Pets Make You Live Longer, But Cats Make You Kill Yourself ...

Think having a pet is keeping you alive? Could be, but don?t push your luck with your cats.

What we do know is that being around cats increases exposure to the Toxoplasma gondii parasite ? and that, in turn, can cause mental illness, possibly leading to suicide.

Senior author Teodor Postolache of the University of Maryland School of Medicine explained that the connection is still tenuous.

We can?t say with certainty that T. gondii caused the women to try to kill themselves, but we did find a predictive association between the infection and suicide attempts later in life that warrants additional studies. We plan to continue our research into this possible connection.

I always knew my cat was trying to kill me. Not just by the nails it puts in my neck or the times it darts in front of me, but I notice my cats always seem to love sneezing right in my face as if they were saying ?your so?irrelevant?you are barely worth my snot, kill yourself.?

Maybe this is what is making cat-ladies so crazy. They are actually sick and not just hoarders who steal your newspapers out of your trashcan until you chase them off by clacking pans together because if I wanted to donate them I would have.
