Man sentenced in Palin lawyer harassment case

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (AP) ? One of the Pennsylvania men convicted of harassing Sarah Palin's Alaska lawyers has been sentenced to time served and five years' probation.

Craig Christy also is to perform community service. His 20-year-old son, Shawn Christy, is also expected to be sentenced in U.S. District Court in Anchorage Friday.

The Christys, of McAdoo, Pa., pleaded guilty in January to making harassing phone calls to Palin's attorneys. Palin attorney John Tiemessen (TEE'-mess-sen) testified the men's calls threatened Palin and attorneys.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Retta-Rae Randall says Craig Christy has been at a federal Bureau of Prisons medical facility, where he received a psychiatric evaluation before being returned to Alaska.

Shawn Christy was released and sent back to Pennsylvania last month after an evaluation report said he wasn't a danger to the public.
