Yum Brands Inc. and McDonald?s Corp. (NYSE:MCD)reported on Wednesday that they were making attempts to confirm food safety following a report by China Central Television that those firms might have sold chicken that was infected, as per reported by media on Wednesday.
State broadcaster CCT purportedly stated that two suppliers, Liuhe Group and Yingtai Food Group Co. supplied chickens that might have been given antibiotics and growth hormones, according to reports.
Yum responded in an e-mailed statement that it deals with food very seriously, while McDonald?s reported on its Chinese microblog a day back that all chicken used in restaurants is experimented at a third-party laboratory.
Its competitors include Burger King Worldwide Inc (NYSE:BKW) that surged +0.78% to $16.81 with the total traded volume of 219,457.00 shares and Yum! Brands, Inc. (NYSE:YUM) that dropped -1.09% to $68.30 with the total traded volume of 1.72 million shares.
