For those in long distance relationships it?s always the kisses that one misses the most.
Singapore-based Iranian researcher Hooman Samani wants to change that with the Kissenger or Kiss Messenger device created by his research centre Lovotics.
He is creating a system of devices paired over the Internet which will replicate the overall sensation of a kiss, where when one kisses at one end it is felt at the other end. The Kissenger looks like a stuffed toy; a deformed pig with large human lips.
Is the young and single club of glam set in the city excited about such an invention? Or do they think otherwise?
Snooker champ, Pankaj Advani, says, ?If it?s not the real thing it?s not worth it. If it?s not a touch it doesn?t amount to much. But if it can match somewhere close to the real deal, then it might be good.?
Young, single and pretty, Meenakshi Raju, who runs the Biere Club wonders if the future of romance in the digital age is secure with such discoveries?
She says, ?It sounds really cute, but I wonder if it can substitute the real thing. I would like to try it out and see if it can. It definitely might help many lovers staying away from each other, from falling apart.?
Lovotics is part of the Keio-Nus Cute Center in Singapore, which is collaboration between the National University of Singapore (NUS) and Keio University of Japan. Samani hopes with his research to improve human affection with the careful use of technology.
The young, uptown lad, Adam Bidapa opines, ?It seems that the main target of Lovotics seems to be happiness. It?s weird and may help real needy lovers. I don?t think I?m going to use it, since I don?t believe in long-distance relationships.?
Admitting to being in and out of a couple of relationships, copywriter Hedyi Shaygi, feels, ?I have come out of two long-distance relationships and believe that such devices may work only temporarily, but not in the long run. A kissenger will make one only very emotional and make the longing worse. Touch and feel is the key to love. Though this device promises that it will be almost real, I quite doubt if anything can be as real as a real kiss.?
